The GreenMobility zone

You can easily rent a car and start and end your trip in the zone

GreenMobility operates in two main zones around Copenhagen and Aarhus, where you can start and end your trip. You can always find an available GreenMobility car within these zones.

In addition to the main zones, we have smaller zones and Plus zones where you can start and end your trip, for example at the airport, Dragør, Lyngby, Rudersdal, and many more. See them all in the app.

In and out of the zone

You can easily drive outside the zone, but you can only end your trip within the zone where you started the trip or in the corresponding Plus or satellite zones. If you drive from Copenhagen to Aarhus or vice versa, you cannot leave the car in the opposite city. The car must return to its original zone. You cannot drive to other countries except for Sweden. In Sweden, you will have to cover the charge yourself.

If you park outside the zone, your rental is still on, as the trip cannot be ended until you are back in the zone. Parking outside the zone is at your own expense. This also counts for parking with a car from Aarhus in Copenhagen or vice versa.

What is a Plus zone?

A Plus zone is a purple area on the map in the GreenMobility app, where there may be a zone fee and/or a zone bonus. On the map in the app, you can always click on the purple area to see what zone fee or zone bonus applies to the specific zone.

FAQ - questions about the zone

What are satellite zones?
Satellite zones are smaller areas located outside the main zone of Copenhagen or Aarhus. The same rules apply: you can pick up and drop off cars there, and parking is covered as long as you follow our parking rules. These zones are marked with a green outline on the map.

What are “no-parking zones”?
No-parking zones are red areas on the app map where parking or ending a trip is not allowed. Please note that our no-parking zones are only indicative and do not include every location where parking is prohibited — they simply highlight areas with a particularly high risk of fines.

Can I drive outside the zone?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to drive outside the zone — for example, to another city or even to Sweden. Just remember that you cannot end your trip outside the zone. The trip must always be completed within the same zone it started in (Copenhagen or Aarhus or the city’s associated satellite zones). A car from Aarhus cannot be left in Copenhagen, and vice versa. Similarly, you cannot leave a car in Sweden — it must be returned to its original zone.

Can I drive to other countries?
Yes, you’re welcome to drive to Sweden. Just keep in mind that the trip — and therefore the rental period — must be ended in Denmark, in the same zone where the trip started (Copenhagen or Aarhus, or the city’s associated satellite zones). It’s easy to cross the Øresund Bridge using the Brobizz lane, and you will be billed afterwards for each crossing.

What is a Plus Zone?
A Plus Zone is a purple area on the GreenMobility app map, where an extra zone fee may apply when ending a trip, and/or a zone bonus may be granted when starting a trip there.
